Nothing Stands in its Way
Epic adventures start with performance, and designers crafted every 2026 Tacoma from the outset to be equally at home on the streets or overlanding across rugged terrain. To provide impressive choice based on each driver’s favourite types of adventures, Toyota engineers developed two distinctive powertrains:
Two Tacoma models are fitted with a 2.4L four-cylinder turbocharged gas engine mated to a six-speed manual and part-time four-wheel-drive. This powertrain generates 270 peak horsepower and up to 310 lb-ft of torque.
Eight other Tacoma models pair the same 2.4L four-cylinder turbocharged gas engine with an eight-speed automatic with tow/haul mode and part-time four-wheel-drive. In this configuration, the powertrain produces up to 278 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque.
