A truck that looks great from every angle

For 2024, Tacoma is completely redesigned from the ground up. Constructed from a high-strength boxed, steel-ladder frame, it adds numerous features that off-road enthusiasts will love. High lift, big tires, slim body and a powerful athletic stance define the iconic Tacoma look. For Tacoma, its narrow body and wide upper grille are a nod to the original HiLux, with features like the aggressive skid plates as an outward expression of extreme ruggedness. Other signature design elements include hexagonal grille motif, the high-mount headlamps, side functional air guides, as well as integrated roof and tailgate spoilers.

With the 2024 Tacoma you can go where others fear to thread in style and comfort. The 2024 Tacoma's interior offers available features like heated steering wheel, a dual zone automatic climate control, and an 8-way power adjustable driver's seat.

To make things even easier for truck duty, bed volume is increased seven percent to help make loading gear a cinch, even when loading under the available tonneau cover. The bed is now deeper from rail to deck, as engineers designed it so worksite gear or a camp fridge could be stored under a closed tonneau cover. The truck bed is lightweight and extremely strong thanks to the new Sheet-Molded Compound (SMC) construction. The lightweight but sturdy aluminum tailgate features an available power open and close function with jam protection.

 

 

2024 Tacoma TRD Off-Road

The 2024 Tacoma TRD Off-Road is more capable than ever. Built off the SR5, this model features special off-road 17” alloy wheels wrapped in trail-rated rubber. Bilstein shocks, a locking rear differential, and underbody protection plates prep it for the trail. Off-road capability is enhanced with crawl control, a multi-terrain select system, and LED fog lamps. This model also features full digital gauges.

There are also two Tacoma TRD Off-Road short-bed grades featuring five-foot bed:

The 2024 Tacoma TRD Off-Road 6M features a manual transmission with clutch start cancel, Bilstein shocks, a locking rear differential, 17” off road alloy wheels wrapped in trail-rated rubber, crawl control, a multi-terrain select system, and underbody protection plates. This model also features heated front seats, LED fog lamps and full digital gauges.

The 2024 Tacoma TRD Off-Road Premium features an automatic transmission but otherwise builds off the 6M configuration. Technology upgrades include the JBL audio system plus 14” touch screen, the multi-terrain monitor system, trailer brake controller, digital key, a 400W AC power outlet and a wireless charging dock for smart phones. Exterior upgrades include a moon roof, cast aluminum running boards, and mirrors with integrated turn signals. Inside, the cabin is enhanced with dual-zone automatic air conditioning, Softex upholstery, and heated, ventilated and power adjustable front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

 

 

2024 Tacoma TRD Sport

Rounding out the six-foot bed lineup are three sport trucks.

The 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport is built off the SR5 and features sport-fabric upholstery, a sport-tuned suspension, aluminum sport pedals, and full digital gauges. It’s then wrapped in sporty style – including a hood scoop, larger 18-inch alloy wheels, a colour-keyed exterior, and LED fog lamps.

The 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport+ adds a bundle of amenities to the sport pickup. These include a moon roof, the JBL Audio system, power-adjustable seats, heated steering wheel, digital key, side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and a wireless charging tray for smart phones. This model is also factory fitted with a trailer brake controller.

Built on the Sport+ model, the 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport Premium features Softex upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, dual zone automatic air conditioning, a 14-inch touch screen for the JBL system, and a 400W AC power outlet. We’ve also added the panoramic view monitor system and cast aluminum running boards.

There is also a Tacoma TRD Sport+ 6M short-bed grade featuring a five-foot bed. This model features a manual transmission with clutch start cancel, sport-tuned suspension, 18” alloy wheels, trailer brake controller, and aluminum sport pedals. Exterior features include a hood scoop, moon roof, side mirrors with integrated turn signals, LED fog lamps, and colour-keyed detailing. Technology features include the JBL audio system plus 14” touch screen, a wireless charging dock for smart phones, digital key, and full digital gauges. Interior amenities include automatic air conditioning, heated front row seats and sport fabric upholstery, and heated steering wheel, power adjustable.

 

 

Improved power

The 2024 Tacoma will provide customers with two robust and efficient powertrain options; both use a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Most grades will offer up to 278 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft. of torque when paired with the new eight-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with intelligence (ECT-i). Enthusiasts will be pleased to know that a six-speed intelligent manual transmission (iMT) with rev matching and stall avoidance technology is also available. The manual transmission models produce 270 horsepower and 310 lb.-ft. of torque. Additionally, a clutch start cancel feature has been incorporated, allowing the truck to start while in gear for use on steep grades or technical trail sections.

Tacoma buyers need their truck to meet a wide variety of demands. Needing to pull a trailer, boat or ATVs means towing capability is a crucial feature. Fortunately, Tacoma is up to the challenge thanks to its maximum towing capacity of 6,400 lbs. on SR5 i-FORCE, while its maximum payload increases on the new model to 1,710 lbs. for i-FORCE Max models. Those impressive numbers are paired with new towing features like an available trailer brake controller that is within easy reach of the driver’s seat and a Tow/Haul drive mode that increases throttle response and adjusts transmission shift points.

An all-new available front stabilizer bar disconnect system increases suspension flex at the push of a button.

 

 

All the latest tech

The all-new Tacoma is filled with the latest technology and information screens that bring significant updates to the cabin. A new 8-inch or available 14-inch multimedia touchscreen displays Toyota’s latest Multimedia system and is designed and engineered by Toyota’s Connected Technologies team. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay^® and Android Auto^TM compatibility and pairs well with the available Qi wireless charging pad with enhanced power output. A USB-C data and charging port is integrated on the right side of the display, and dual USB-C charging ports are included in the front row and available for the rear passengers. A 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with four different styles is standard on TRD models and above, while a 7-inch gauge cluster is standard on SR5. Standard on all grades is a Smart Key System with push-button start.

For those who love to jam out both in their truck on the way to camp and at the campsite, Tacoma now offers an available premium 10 speaker JBL^® audio upgrade, including a new externally coupled subwoofer for improved output and a JBL^® FLEX portable speaker. When docked on the dash, the JBL^® FLEX charges and operates as the centre channel speaker. When undocked, the JBL^® FLEX portable Bluetooth speaker can play music from your Bluetooth device, run for up to six hours, pair with other Toyota JBL® FLEX Portable Speakers, and be submerged in up to three feet of water.

 

 

The safest Tacoma mid-size truck yet

All 2024 Tacoma models come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, Toyota’s suite of active safety and convenience systems. New-to-Tacoma TSS enhancements are made possible by system sensors with improved detection capability. This suite of features includes: Lane Tracing Assist with Enhanced Line and Road Recognition, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist and Road Edge Detection, Automatic High Beams, Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian (Daytime and Low-Light) and Daytime Bicycle Detection, Intersection Support and Emergency Steering Assist, and Full Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Curve Speed Management.

In addition to TSS 3.0, other available features include Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), which is designed to help detect and warn you of vehicles approaching or positioned in the adjacent lanes and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) for added peace of mind by helping to detect vehicles approaching from either side while backing out and alerting you with a visual and audible warning. Hill Start Assist Control (HAC) also comes standard.
